«An instruction for a person, who has a claim on an academic degree of a Doctor and a Grand-Doctor of Philosophy in a particular area of science and in a particular sphere of a scientifically significant activity»

 

Is done by the very applicant

 

  1. It is necessary to inform: a brief biographical information about an applicant; what higher educational institution he graduated from (when and where); what scientific and scientifically significant activity he engages in (where, what period); what scientific publications and scientifically significant achievements he has (inventions, discoveries, etc.).

 

  1. For the applicant of an academic degree of a Doctor and a Grand-Doctor a publication of a minimum of one research in a journal «The Spirit of Time» (the IUFS). The volume of the publication is up to 8 computer pages.

 

  1. It is necessary to submit beforehand to the IHAC under the IUFS a dissertation, which is got up according to the standards of the IHAC under the IUFS.

 

  1. It is necessary to submit beforehand to the IHAC under the IUFS (along with a dissertation) an author’s abstract, which is got up according to the standards of the IHAC under the IUFS.

 

  1. Execution of paragraph 3 is desirable, but not necessary for applicants for an academic degree of a bachelor and master (if there are publications, one has to specify: what and where).

 

  1. Execution of paragraph 3, 4 desirable for applicants for academic degrees of all levels (bachelor, master, Doctor, Grand-Doctor).

 

  1. A defence of dissertations at the IHAC under the IUFS meetings is realized in the set sequence: bachelor, master, doctor, grand-doctor. In exceptional cases, if a successfully defended dissertation exceeds the level of a sought-for by the applicant academic degree in its scientific advantages, it can be re-qualified by the decision of the IHAC under the IUFS for defend for a higher academic degree and cane be defended at the meeting of the IHAC under the IUFS again faster, after a proper improvement.

 

The IUFS Regulations

 

  1. An order of defence
  1. After signing a contract and taking of an applicant to the doctoral candidacy (magistracy, bachelor), he is appointed a scientific supervisor from the list of scientists of the IUFS.
  2. In the case, if the theme of the dissertation is defined at the junction of two and more scientific specialties, the second (and third) scientific supervisor is appointed, and one of the several supervisors is appointed to be the main one.
  3. Scientific supervisors work with the applicant face time or by correspondence (by e-mail, phone, visual communication, in a system of distance learning).
  4. In the process of readiness, the applicant sends supervisors by e-mail a dissertation and an author’s abstract and scientific supervisors inform the applicant about remarks to the correction of this material.
  5. If there are no remarks, requiring obligatory correction of the dissertation and author’s abstract, among all of the supervisors, the main scientific supervisor comes to agreement with the President and the applicant the date, time and place of dissertation’s defence, and the Date of Defence is chosen, not earlier than in two weeks after making a decision about readiness of the applicant for the dissertation’s defence.
  6. The applicant sends the ready dissertation and author’s abstract by e-mail to the office and the President of the IUFS with a banner page, where the scientific supervisors are specified.
  7. The Presidents appoints opponents, and after that office workers prepare banner pages of the dissertation and author’s abstract (with a list of the opponents and notification of the date, time and place of defence), according to the confirmed at the IUFS standard of its design, prints the dissertation and author’s abstracts out for the opponents, who do not work using the Internet, and send e-copies of the dissertation and author’s abstract out to the rest of the opponents.
  8. In the obligatory membership of opponents are included:
    1. The President of the IUFS
    2. Not less than three scientists in a scientific specialization of the dissertation (if necessary, it can be a detached specialist among them)
    3. A scientist in a specialty «Philosophy» (philosophical and spiritual-moral aspects)
    4. A scientist in a specialty «Computer sciences» (computer, information and futurological aspects)
    5. A scientist in a specialty «Jurisprudence» (international aspect, copyright, etc.)
    6. An independent (black) opponent of any scientific specialization.

 

Scientists, according to the paragraphs 3-5 may be independent opponents, too.

If opponents have several academic degrees, their number may be decreased, accordingly.

Independent opponents may not be included in banner pages of a dissertation and/or an author’s abstract.

 

  1. The President appoints members of the Academic Council, who are entitled to vote at the end the defence of this dissertation, and invites these and other (who are not entitled to vote) scientists of the IUFS to the meeting.
  2. The President invites to the defence a representative of business (a perspective of implementation), too, and, it is a scientist, includes him in the membership of this dissertation, as a person, who is entitled to vote.
  3. The opponents are to get the dissertation and the author’s abstract not later than 10 days before the defence date. If not, they have a right to refuse from being opponents.
  4. Each opponent and scientific supervisor prepare a review, not more than one a list of paper (one-two pages) in duplicate: the first one – for the applicant, the second – archival. Both copies (or in e-form for printing out) are sent to the IUFS office not later than twenty-four hours before the defence. The first copy (or its e-copy) is given (is sent beforehand) to the applicant not later than an hour before the defence.
  5. The IUFS office workers prepare proper documents for the day of defence – separately for each applicant, if there are several of them to defend on the same day. The lists of scientists may differ for each applicant, if differ in various scientific disciplines.
  6. The applicant prepares for the defence four copies of the dissertation in-bound and 20 copies of the author’s abstract in-bound. These materials are to be submitted to the members of the Council an hour before the beginning of the meeting for acquaintance.

The speech of a scientist, who recommended an applicant at the IUFS – 3 minutes

  

The speech of a scientific supervisor with brief information about the applicant and theme of the dissertation – 3 minutes

 

The presentation by the applicant – 15 minutes          

 

Questions to the applicant and his answers – 10 minutes

Speeches of the opponents – 15 minutes

Answers of the applicant to the opponents – 5 minutes

Speech of the scientific supervisor with characteristics of the applicant – 3 minutes

Final word of the President – 3 minutes

Voting – 2 minutes

The applicant’s final word – 3 minutes

Pause – 5 minutes

Awarding a diploma and photographic and video survey – 5 minutes

Total time: 1 hour 20 minutes
